WetworkRL

Corpopunk "bounty hunting" traditional roguelike. Become an empty husk whose sole purpose is market manipulation. Pump your body full of various black market chemicals. Commit unspeakable acts of white collar cruelty. Eliminate the competition or die trying.

 Currently implemented features

• Ranged and melee combat
• Small selection of melee weapons, guns, armor, and consumables
• "Bounty hunting": eliminate targets in order to progress through the world
• Four character attributes (Attack, Defense, Cunning, and Accuracy)
• Hostile and neutral NPCs

• Stock market trading - your actions directly affect both the formal and informal stock markets
• Extensive effect systems (buffs, debuffs, etc). Decimate your targets using a wide variety of corrosive gasses, nerve agents, ultra-focused gamma radiation, and other prohibited biochem weapons
• Various bioenhancements, cybernetic implants, and mycelium-based microcomputers to extend your annihilatory powers

A WORD OF WARNING...

There is a risk that your AV software will flag the .exe used to run the game as a virus. This in completely unintentional on my part - WetworkRL is a computer game and nothing else. The reason it's being flagged most likely has something to do with the process of turning Python programs into Windows executables. I have no fix for this at the moment, sorry.

NEW FEATURES/CHANGES

• You can now talk to neutral NPCs to get tips on which companies to invest in, which markets to expand into, etc
• Added an in-game help/controls screen
• Significant upgrades to the UI style
• The Look command now shows an entity's current health status and some "lore"
• The look command now shows some "lore" when looking at an item
• Lookinfo is now displayed at the cursor position rather than by the message log
• K9's now come equipped with a Rabies Payload, which doubles their ATK when below 50% health
• Tileset changed; tiles are now more square
• UI now shows active effects in apropriate colors as well as effect durations
• Lowered health added per level up from 3 HP to 2 HP
  
• Attribute boosting consumables now last for 15 turns instead of 10
• Slight tweaks to enemy XP rewards
• Entities can no longer have more than one Burning DoT active at the same time (mostly to make accidental self-immolation less punishing)

BUGFIXING

• Fixed issue where enemies sometimes wouldn't follow the player once spotted
• Fixed issue where Magnesium Grenades wouldn't deal explosion damage
• Fixed visual bug where the Grenade aiming reticle would clash with the lookinfo box
